This view takes
in most of the area of the Great Laxey Mine that is now open as a museum
for public viewing. The buildings nearest are the Machine and Engine houses
with a cistern for storing water. The water to power the wheel and other
machinery was brought in from surrounding valleys via a complex system
of lades.
