The reason for
the reduction of the church tower, I'm almost lined up with runway 06 at
the former RAF Andreas airfield. Although the church wasn't on the
runway centreline, the fighter aircraft of the day flew curved appoaches
to land and the tall tower was considered a dangerous obstuction.
