One of the superb
ship models in the maritime gallery, this is the paddle steamer 'Empress
Queen', constructed at Govan, Scotland in 1897. Chartered by
the Admiralty for wartime service in 1915, she ran ashore off the Isle
of Wight in 1916 and broke up.
