Hidden in a
field just off the road is this octagonal shaped base and remains of a
wall. It was constructed in the early 1940s as a Radio Direction
Finding station for nearby RAF Ronaldsway. The operators worked inside
a wooden bulding and rotated the aerials by hand to get a bearing on an
aircraft transmission.
