Jurby Airfield.
Constructed for the RAF in 1938 as a grass airfield with tarmac runways
added in the early 1940s Designed as a training airfield, fighter
aircraft were also based here until the purpose built airfield at Andreas
came into use in 1941. Now rarely used for aviation it is more usually
a racing circuit for motorcycles and a meeting is taking place in this
picture.
