The Isle of Man
once boasted an extensive railway network, with several companies using
a mixture of traditional and new techniques.
Although we are lucky
to retain what we have of the
old systems, lines
that are no longer with us include:
Isle of Man Railway,
Douglas-Peel
Manx Northern Railway,
St Johns-Ramsey
Foxdale Railway, St
Johns-Foxdale
Upper Douglas Tramway
Douglas Southern Electric
Tramway
and several more minor
lines.
However, we still have
:
Steam Railway from
Douglas to Port Erin
Manx Electric Railway
from Douglas to Ramsey
Snaefell Mountain
Railway
Douglas Horse Tramway
Groudle Glen Railway
